SALES STYLIST HELPS HOME SELLERS
On 10 September 2009, the first 12 employees of the movers' organisation Mondial Movers received their sales styling diploma. The brandnew Mondial sales stylists were trained by House of KiKi to start working as sales stylists. They are the first official CNVV sales stylists to work for a removal services firm.
The Mondial sales stylist helps home sellers to sell their homes more quickly by advertising their old home in an optimal way. A sales stylist looks through the eyes of potential buyers and focuses on spaciousness and aspects of light. The emphasis will lie on eye-catching features of your house or flat, such as a fireplace or the French windows, while the old and worn blue corner couch or the busy flower wallpaper will be kept out of view. Just to make sure that your home gets all the attention it needs among the enormous supply of homes currently for sale.

The sales styling training was not an opportunity to relax. The hands-on approach required of Mondian sales stylists was the central theme throughout the training. Furniture was moved around and rooms were cleared of toys and trinkets that were lying about. Bright carpets and ditto furniture with no added value to a room were hauled away.
By expanding the current services the Mondial removal firms provide an additional service to complement their current expertise. As movers, they know the ins and outs of the trade. That's exactly what a home seller needs. Mondial Movers are the first in the moving industry providing this training initiative. The objective for all 22 Mondial Movers was to have at least one certified in-house sales stylist by the end of 2009. Please visit www.mondialstylist.nl to make a free appointment with your preferred Mondial sales stylist - no strings attached.
House of KiKi, founded by Kim Kanters and Kirsten Slager, is training people who are familiar with the housing market. In Spring 2009 the two ladies could be seen in action during a Dutch tv-programme "Uitstel van executie" (Foreclosure postponed). Now they share their expertise and experience with the first 12 employees of the national network of registered movers.

MOVERS COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainable enterpreneurship is high on the agenda in the movers industry. Removal service providers are aware of the impact of moving on the climate. Fortunately, the removal industry is not only aware, but is also prompted to act and invest. Not only is Mondial Movers, as a frontrunner in socially responsible entrepreneurship, continuously in search of improvements within its own removal company, they are also ambassadors to the cause, hoping to inspire others to do the same. And there are still many improvements to be made in the area of socially responsible entrepreneurship.
As a national network Mondial Movers has an educational and guiding role and promote socially responsible entrepreneurship among the 22 participating entrepreneurs. For this reason, various innovations to minimise the ecological footprint are tested in the office of Mondial Movers before they are put to use by the participating companies. For example, the Mondial Movers office was equipped with environmentally friendly lighting. This year's focus will be on generating their own green electricity.
Recently it turned out that the roof of the company concourse in Alblasserdam is not strong enough to support the succulents that are part of a green roof. The subsidy request for solar panels was rejected, but the negotiations for the installation of a (small) wind turbine on the roof are in full swing.
Mondial Movers does not only consider its own company, but its network too. The removal company verifies that human rights were respected during the manufacturing process and the transport of the materials and products used, to create awareness and set a positive wave in motion among its suppliers "The nature of our services does not really bring us into contact with an issue such as human rights", says general manager Tom Stuy. "Child labour, sustainable wages and suppression are issues that interface more with deliveries of products than with our services." Judging by the enthusiastic response from our suppliers we've made a first move.
Mondial Movers tells its suppliers about Aim For Human Rights, a Dutch human rights organisation contributing to a world in which people can realise their rights. With its Human Rights and Business Programme, Aim For Human Rights offers support to businesses to implement human rights in their organisation. For more info, please visit www.aimforhumanrights.nl.

MONDIAL MOVERS COOPERATES IN PHYSICAL LOADING SURVEY
Mondial Movers, the country-wide network of registered removal companies, is fully committed to the well-being of employees. Prompted by changing legislation and the endeavour to keep employees in optimal condition, a survey on physical loading is being carried out by BGZ Wegvervoer among workers of Mondial Vlot Verhuizingen and Henneken Mondial Movers. The survey is performed by monitoring two workers in three types of removal services.

The workers start their workday by equipping each other with the measuring devices. The physical exertions of the hard-working men are measured along with the cardial impact of the activities. The primary objective of the study is to find out which working method is least demanding for the movers, the secondary objective to keep our movers physically strong and healthy. That is good news for our customers as well.
